Features: The third generation of Chinese poetry movement in the 1980s gave rise to numerous poetic groups and schools. Although the vibrant poetry movement has subsided, it is undeniable that the outstanding poets active in the 1980s created poetic miracles. Their works have never been systematically and comprehensively published. This volume showcases the exceptional writing and linguistic marvels of ten poets, some already established in the literary world and others yet to emerge. Chinese contemporary poetry has spanned nearly three decades since the 1970s. Despite the distinct spiritual atmospheres and material forms of each era, poets have achieved remarkable accomplishments. These achievements have directly or indirectly shaped modern Chinese, bringing profound and significant changes to the language. As a written language, modern Chinese has gradually matured and refined through the efforts of generations of poets. Over time, this will become increasingly evident. The purpose of this poetry anthology is to trace the lineage of Chinese contemporary poetry, systematically and valuably introducing outstanding poets and their works, aiming to fill the void in mainland Chinese poetry publishing. I Still Cannot Deeply Understand is Lu Yang's collection of poems. It includes some of Lu Yang's most representative works since 1990. The book is divided into four sections: Volume One: Poems of Ma Yi, Volume Two: Poems of Retreat, Volume Three: Poems of Absoluteness, and Volume Four: Several Scattered Poems. For a long time, Lu Yang has been an independent and nearly reclusive poet. When he gained widespread recognition for his works published in novel form and became an important figure in the "New Generation" literary movement of the 1990s, his poetic writing remained semi-secret, known only to a few close friends. This situation largely stems from his extreme poetic awareness. He believes that a poet's existence should be preserved as a kind of secret in the era. Lu Yang's poetic concepts and forms bear a clear and elegant personal imprint. His lines, whether originating from inner passion, everyday details, or sharp pain, inevitably point toward clarity and transcendence. Melancholy and contemplation merge in a deeply contradictory state, making each poem a concrete testament to spiritual liberation. Lu Yang's poetry is the product of a solitary individual detached from all superficial movements in the poetic world. Perhaps precisely for this reason, his poems pose an unexpected yet genuine question to contemporary poetry.
