Features: In late 1999, based on the spirit and specific rules of the newly promulgated "Contract Law of the People's Republic of China," we revised the "Contract Law" textbook written by Professor Cui Jianyuan in 1998. The revised textbook was edited by Cui Jianyuan as the chief editor, with Han Shiyuan, Wang Yi, and Wang Cheng as deputy editors. Since its publication in 2000, the textbook has been well-received by readers. However, over the past three years, significant changes have occurred in China's social life: new issues reflected in some contract cases, valuable experience accumulated from judicial and arbitration practices, the promulgation of several laws, the issuance of new judicial interpretations, in-depth research in civil law, the improvement in the awareness of the textbook's authors, as well as the discussions and criticisms from serious peers and readers on the book's viewpoints, all prompted us to think deeply. We are determined to revise the "Contract Law" textbook again.
