Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the Education System of China" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization in China." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school with virtue," forming a distinctive educational characteristic of "comprehensive development with special talents" and exploring a teaching style of "seeking truth, precision, diversity, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is the inevitable result of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. If one thinks that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious problems but requires them to complete necessary exercises. We encourage students to engage in flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized the core teaching staff from the school to meticulously plan and compile three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials." The "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional problem types, the quantity and difficulty of the questions are designed to closely resemble the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of the college entrance exams, we have positioned the first-round training materials as unit exercises, the second-round training materials as thematic exercises, and the third-round training materials as simulated exams, providing a comprehensive and progressive solution to the problems students encounter during the three rounds of review.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part is newly supplemented based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions. This series is now compiled and published for the first time, making it publicly available.
This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate problem positioning: In terms of the sequence of time periods, the problem arrangement in this series focuses on consolidating and improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods related to the exam content. The complexity and difficulty of the questions gradually approach the college entrance exams in a progressive manner.
2. Detailed problem-solving hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more in-depth solutions provided for difficult problems. The well-placed hints in the series often play a pivotal role.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' problems, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
