Features: Engineering Physics Tutorial (3rd Edition), Volume 2 and Engineering Physics Tutorial (3rd Edition) are the result of 10 years of continuous research, trial use, and repeated revisions based on the 2nd edition. They are designed to facilitate both teaching organization by instructors and self-study and reading by students. This book is structured around the fundamental theories, concepts, and research methods of classical and modern physics, with some developments and updates. It selects content from a modern perspective, organically integrating new achievements in science and technology and the application of physical principles in engineering into relevant parts of the book (two organic integrations), highlighting the modernization and engineering physics characteristics of the textbook. Additionally, bold explorations and attempts have been made in how to inspire students' innovative spirit, reforming exercises and assignments, and enhancing the operability and of the textbook, which adds novelty and distinctiveness. The entire book is divided into two volumes. Volume 1 includes three parts: Introduction, Mechanics, and Electromagnetism, while Volume 2 includes three parts: Thermodynamics, Waves, and Modern Physics. The book uniformly adopts the Statutory Units of Measurement of the People's Republic of China and the national standard Quantities and Units implemented in 1994, as well as the Physics Nomenclature published in 1996.
This tutorial, along with its supplementary materials such as Engineering Physics Major Assignments, Solutions and Selected Exercises for Engineering Physics Tutorial, and Teacher's Reference Book for Engineering Physics Tutorial, as well as electronic lesson plans, can serve as teaching materials for university physics courses (undergraduate level) in engineering disciplines across ordinary universities, adult higher education institutions, and distance education colleges, covering 116–140 hours of instruction. They are also suitable as main reference books for self-study exam preparation classes and candidates for self-taught examinations. Furthermore, they can be referenced by candidates for postgraduate studies, engineering technicians, university and secondary school teachers, and administrative officers.
