Features: What can we do for people facing sudden upheaval? What can we do for young hearts terrified by nature, even losing everything? The winners of the International Hans Christian Andersen Award, including Anthony Browne, Robert Ingpen, and Du?an Kállay, along with 40 other international master illustrators, have gathered their blessings and heartfelt care from around the world in this book, in this hope exhibition held just for you. They say, "Time will smooth away all sorrow." We believe that hope is what gives us the motivation to move forward, the determination and perseverance to face challenges. If there is any force of humanity that can compare to the power of nature, it is hope! Thus, Anthony Browne, the winner of the International Hans Christian Andersen Award, sends over a quote from Shakespeare from the UK: "Hope turns kings into gods and ordinary people into kings." From Bologna, the Italian illustrator Giovanni sends a sky filled with bright stars, with a builder sitting on a swing diligently painting the starry sky. From Munich, the German master illustrator Buchet delivers a beautiful picture of swans waiting quietly in the snow for spring to arrive—hope is always there, it will melt the ice and snow, bring spring, and create delicate, moving images that craft a profound and serene inner world. This book collects the exquisite works of 40 internationally renowned illustrators. Known as the "Illustrated Chicken Soup," it moved countless people during the Taiwan earthquake and the SARS pandemic.
