Features: Influenza (influenza) is a shortened form of influenza, an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza viruses, widely prevalent worldwide, with the potential to occur in all seasons. It is highly contagious and often leads to localized outbreaks or pandemics. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has accumulated profound theories and rich experience in the long-term fight against infectious diseases, making significant contributions to the prosperity and development of the Chinese nation. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's health sector has adhered to the guiding principles of "prevention first" and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, achieving remarkable results in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. This is particularly evident in the 2003 spring SARS epidemic, which originated in Asia and quickly spread to other countries and regions worldwide. The clinical efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for SARS attracted attention from international peers. Based on the research on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for SARS, the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine took on the research project "Research on Decision-Making Technology Platform for Emergency Public Health Rescue Programs" under the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2004, with influenza prevention and treatment being one of the research topics. The prevention and treatment of influenza should also adhere to the principles of "prevention first" and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. This book tracks the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of influenza, as well as the principles of TCM clinical diagnosis and treatment for influenza, the rational use of preventive and therapeutic prescriptions and traditional Chinese medicine preparations. It aims to provide references for the prevention and treatment of influenza in the event of a potential influenza pandemic, enabling the active and effective adoption of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine methods for prevention and treatment.
