What nutrients can be eaten during pregnancy

Patient's question:

I work at an advertising company and use the computer every day. I'm in my 9th week of pregnancy and have had three severe colds so far. Today, I still have a cold. How should I take care of myself? What nutrients can I eat now?

Doctor's answer:

No need to take any supplements. The most important supplement is folic acid (grapefruit, spinach, rapeseed...). If pregnant women lack folic acid, it may lead to the baby being born with: low intelligence, low birth weight. Also, avoid taking overly nourishing supplements, such as: ginseng (can cause qi stagnation and yin deficiency, spotting, miscarriage, and premature birth), longan (can worsen nausea if eaten in excess, even leading to miscarriage). Additionally: deer placenta, antler, and royal jelly are also not recommended for consumption.
