The Earl of Harewood, a renowned British music figure, is currently the Business Director of the Royal Opera House, UK. He has previously served as the editor of the Opera magazine, Director of the Royal Opera House, and Artistic Advisor to the London Symphony Orchestra. He has dedicated over two decades to editing, supplementing, revising, and publishing Kobbe's The Complete Opera Book. The ninth edition of the book (1978), revised and expanded by him, added 98 new opera stories compared to the first edition in 1922, increasing its length from 1,246 to 1,670 pages. It not only included new opera stories from the 20th century but also incorporated works from before Gluck and those revived in the past two to three decades. To this day, he continues to work toward making this monumental work a true "complete collection."
