Gathering masterpieces by renowned writers, condensing the essence of literature; experiencing splendid civilizations, absorbing wisdom for growth! I may be one of them. Therefore, I think: My (emotion) stems from my deep love for all beautiful things in the world, and I even pay more attention to and am more fond of them than others. These beautiful things also seem to be my friends and family, loving, paying attention to, and being fond of me in return. We always maintain a harmonious, friendly, intimate, and sincere connection, fostering deep emotional exchanges, collisions, and communications. We remind, hint at, and look forward to each other, care for, and give to each other. Every small emotion washes away a small spot or stain from my soul, while every profound emotion seems to sever a recurring flaw in my nature. Day after day, year after year, emotions make my inner self cleaner, brighter, richer, and broader, enabling me to embrace a brand-new self with every new sunrise. For me, emotions are always a noble nourishment, like abundant and sweet breast milk; and for emotions, I am always an endless suckler, growing taller, stronger, healthier, and wiser, enjoying both wisdom and passion by absorbing the essence of breast milk. Silent Years: Time passes silently, life sings. This section collects the philosophical reflections of writers on individual life and life itself, elevating their personal insights to a universal level, allowing all readers to share these precious thoughts. The writers in this section include Eileen Chang, Jiang Zilong, and Zhao Lihong.
Success and Motivation: A life free of obstacles is always just a wish in our blessings, and the journey toward success is always filled with thorns and (paths). How to overcome these challenges and face failures—these are the themes of this section. Liu Yanmin, Albert Einstein, and Daisaku Ikeda, among others, will share their life experiences and profound reflections, offering us a beacon of hope.
Science Sketches: This section features both the French science writer Jean-Henri Fabre and the renowned Chinese essayist Qin Mu. They examine their subjects with precise scientific attitudes while vividly expressing these scientific truths in literary style. Let us enjoy the beauty of essays while gaining knowledge about nature.
Life Wisdom: To ordinary people, life may seem monotonous and dull. But to writers and philosophers like Zhou Guoping, Lin Qingxuan, and Bertrand Russell, life is full of wisdom. From individual independence and freedom to the subtleties and dialectics of gender relationships, and even the attitudes and wisdom of interpersonal interactions—all can be found here.
Ode to Objects: Chinese essays have long had the tradition of using objects to express thoughts. In the hands of these writers, bees, ants, seashells, and wild grasses become not only their emotional anchors but also symbols with deeper humanistic meanings. This section includes writers such as Qin Mu, Shi Mo, and Xia Yan.
