Features: This book spans over fifty years, from the eve of liberation to the post-Reform and Opening Up era, telling the life story of a female surgeon and Communist Party member, Shen Zhengyi, who endured countless hardships. On the eve of liberation, at the age of eighteen, Shen Zhengyi was in high school. Tang Shige Zimin admired her talent and beauty and persistently pursued her, but she remained unmoved because she was deeply in love with the young physical education teacher, Qi Changping—a Party underground worker. When Qi Changping was arrested and imprisoned, she risked everything and spared no effort to campaign for his release. After liberation, the People's Government recommended her to study at the provincial capital's medical college, where she joined the Communist Party. Upon graduation, she quickly became an outstanding surgeon, healing the sick with high medical ethics, integrity, and honesty, earning praise from all sides. She married Qi Changping, had a beautiful daughter, and lived a happy and fulfilling life. However, during the "Anti-Rightist Campaign," she was mistakenly labeled a "Rightist," expelled from the Party, and sent to a farm for labor. To protect her husband and daughter, she resolutely decided to divorce and endured the hardships alone. She also suffered even greater cruelty during political movements like the Cultural Revolution. No matter what, her faith remained unshaken, her integrity unyielding. Her deep love for the country, the people, and the nation remained constant, and she worked diligently and tirelessly, ultimately suffering from overwork and passing away at the age of fifty-nine while on duty in a medical setting. An ordinary doctor, an ordinary person, who lived an extraordinary life, demonstrating the brilliance of human character and leaving behind a story of true affection that inspires people to reflect.
