Features: China is indeed rising rapidly, and we are proud and of it! I can confidently assert that the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will lead the way in the entire course of world history in the 21st century and beyond. However, our peaceful rise is not without challenges. In our development process, we still face various problems and risks, both domestically and internationally, in domestic affairs and foreign relations, in economic and social aspects. There are many issues that require the integration of our collective wisdom and strength to resolve. Therefore, as the "Chinese think tank," the Institute for Comprehensive Development (Shenzhen, China), when we organized the Public Policy Joint Conference and had all our colleagues repeatedly discuss the annual report of the "Chinese Think Tank Annual Report" for this year, we felt it necessary to record the hot issues related to China's development discussed in various ways over the past year in the form of a comprehensive outcome. This is the origin of the book "Focus: Discussions on Hot Issues in China's Economy."
Why did we use the term "discussions" instead of "research"? Because most of the results in this book are based on summaries of various public and internal seminars and symposiums held at our institute, gathering the wisdom of numerous experts and scholars (with a small portion being research commentaries by our institute's experts published in the "Think Tank Quick Reference"). Therefore, this outcome itself is a "discussion," and the publication of this book also hopes to spark more "discussions," even "debates."
The book is divided into seven parts and eighteen chapters. These seven parts cover topics such as the international environment, macroeconomics, open economy, regional economy, system reform, transportation economy, and port economy, nearly encompassing all the major hot issues in China's current economic and social development.
