Features: This collection of academic papers was compiled to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the First Historical Archives of China. It includes 125 papers written by employees of the archives on the subjects of Ming and Qing archives and historical research, aiming to comprehensively reflect the research status and overall academic level of the entire archives over the ten years from 1994 to 2004. Among the papers, 32 focus on Ming and Qing archives and archival work research, including studies on the organization, preservation, utilization, editing, restoration, microfilming, and computer application of Ming and Qing archives; reviews and introductions to the content of Ming and Qing archives; and research on the relationship between Ming and Qing archival work and the Qing History Compilation Project. There are 20 papers on institutional and institutional system research, including studies on the central and local institutions and official systems of the Qing Dynasty; research on Qing official documents and various institutional systems. There are 73 papers on Ming and Qing historical research, covering fields such as politics, economy, military, diplomacy, ethnicity, religion, culture, and health.
