The average length of each text is about 1,300 words, and the number of words in each text is indicated at the end for easy monitoring and assessment of reading speed. A vocabulary list is included at the end of the book, with each entry featuring spelling, phonetic transcription, Chinese definition, and word level. This book also comes with a teacher's reference book containing further annotations on the texts, answers to reading comprehension questions, and reference translations for each lesson.
