Features: The materials in these collections are the accumulation and summary of the past decade. They cover various aspects of common basic vocabulary: word pronunciation, word formation, semantic features, polysemy, synonyms, antonyms, semantic shift, word class conversion, collocation, word choice, inflection, classification of idioms, and the comparison between British English and American English, among others. Vocabulary and grammar are closely related and inseparable, so the collections also involve grammatical structures, sentence patterns, rhetoric, and translation issues. Some of these issues are also related to cultural and sociological knowledge of China and the West, as well as historical backgrounds. It can be certain that many of the problems in these collections are difficulties or points of confusion and misunderstanding that Chinese students often encounter when learning English. Since each problem in the collection is mostly unrelated to others, and considering the time spent on addressing these issues, as well as the plan to continue publishing this series, the problems are not categorized or ordered. Instead, they are arranged sequentially based on the central word of each problem, with each collection forming a self-contained system. Most of the content in the collections has been published in English journals. They are mostly the insights and experiences we have gained through long-term English learning and teaching, while some are preliminary explorations and research.
