Features: The development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) urology has spanned over two thousand years. A review of ancient TCM medical texts reveals a vast collection, yet while some records of male urological conditions exist, they never formed an independent specialty theory in clinical practice, nor did they leave behind a comprehensive urological textbook for future generations. Due to the fragmented and non-systematic descriptions of male urology by medical scholars, TCM urology has been plagued by numerous misconceptions, severely impacting public understanding of male urological diseases. For millennia, excessive emphasis on strengthening kidney yang has caused numerous harms to people's physical constitution. The 1988 publication of China's first TCM urology textbook, Medical Science of Male Urology, is considered the foundational work of the field. It systematically elaborates on the historical development of TCM urology, the physiological characteristics of males, etiology, pathological features, and differential diagnostic and treatment methods, reflecting the academic thought system of TCM urology and marking the emergence of it as an independent discipline with basic prerequisites. Subsequently, TCM urology clinics were established across the country, providing professional treatment for many male urological patients. However, due to traditional influences, many male patients still avoid seeking medical help or receive incorrect diagnoses, delaying treatment. Therefore, the popularization of TCM urology knowledge remains a task for all sectors of society to work together for the greater good of human health. The Le Family's Collection of TCM offers a valuable window for understanding male urology. The writing of this book focuses on popularizing specialty knowledge, striving to be as accessible, practical, and effective as possible. It highlights male physiology, common causes of diseases, differential diagnosis and treatment of common male urological conditions, as well as health preservation and longevity practices for different age groups. Through this book, it is hoped to provide men with beneficial guidance to better understand themselves, scientifically prevent diseases, and promote health and longevity.
