The content is rich and illustrated, which is beneficial for broadening knowledge and cultivating cross-cultural communication awareness. Reading skill guides are written for each book based on the requirements of the "New Curriculum Standards," focusing on guiding students' learning strategies. The exercises after each unit are designed to be open, flexible, and encourage students to think, fostering creativity and improving language proficiency, thereby fully achieving the cultivation goals of the "New Curriculum Standards." With the promulgation of the new "English Curriculum Standards," English teaching reform in middle schools has entered a new stage, raising the requirements for students' knowledge, communicative competence, and cultural awareness to a new level. Extracurricular reading is no longer just an optional supplement to classroom teaching but has become an indispensable part of English learning. The "New Curriculum Standards" have made clear stipulations on the quantity of extracurricular reading for students and proposed a series of new requirements for cultivation goals. To this end, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) and Longman have collaborated to compile this "FLTRP–Longman Graded Readers for Middle School English: New Curriculum Standards Encyclopedic Series." In terms of learning strategy guidance, reading skill guides are written for each book based on the requirements of the "New Curriculum Standards at each level, guiding students to develop good learning habits. 5. In terms of exercise design after each unit, it highlights flexibility, openness, and participation, combining reading, speaking, and writing, stimulating students' imagination and creativity, and helping them fully meet the requirements of the "New Curriculum Standards."
