Features: General English for Higher Vocational Colleges is an English textbook specifically designed for vocational college students. It was developed based on two rounds of teaching practice using College English, published in 2000, and incorporates the new assessment requirements from the Ministry of Education. Vocational English teaching places greater emphasis on students acquiring the ability to use English for work and daily communication. The authors of this book have made active efforts in this regard, which have been recognized and welcomed by many vocational colleges. The main characteristic of vocational English teaching is the emphasis on "competency-based learning," strengthening oral and listening training, and striving to organically integrate the training of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, avoiding artificially dividing the holistic nature of language learning (especially at the basic level) into unrelated courses. General English for Higher Vocational Colleges adheres to these features while incorporating feedback from both teachers and students, focusing more on basic skill training and improving the selection and arrangement of content, expanding the scope, and adding a student workbook. This series consists of four volumes (Preparatory Level and Levels 1–3), with this book being the Preparatory Level, specifically for students with weak English proficiency upon enrollment. The teaching requirements of the entire series align with the level of the National College English Application Ability Test taken by vocational college students.
