Features: This book is a fundamental textbook for "Advanced Mathematics" in higher vocational and higher college education. It is compiled in accordance with the teaching syllabus for "Advanced Mathematics" in higher vocational and higher college education issued by the Ministry of Education, and integrates the author's accumulated mathematical experience from teaching "Advanced Mathematics" to students in economics, management, and engineering disciplines for many years. The book is divided into two volumes, intended for first-year students in economics, management, and engineering disciplines for two semesters. The first volume consists of five chapters, covering functions, limits, continuity, derivatives and differentials, and mean value theorems and their applications. The second volume consists of four chapters, covering differential equations, vector algebra and spatial analytical geometry, multivariable calculus, and infinite series. Content marked with an asterisk () is not taught to non-engineering students but is intended for engineering students; some content may be optionally selected by instructors. Each chapter is equipped with a sufficient number of exercises, and detailed hints or solutions are provided at the end of the book. To facilitate student learning, the appendix at the end of the book includes commonly used mathematical formulas and curve graphs.
The author has long been aware of the difficulties and confusions that higher vocational and higher college students face when learning "Advanced Mathematics." Therefore, this book presents the fundamental content of the "Advanced Mathematics" course according to the syllabus requirements, tailored to students' comprehension levels and understanding abilities. The explanations are clear and easy to follow, with abundant examples, intuitive diagrams, and thought-provoking content, making it convenient for self-study. The book emphasizes the training of students' foundational knowledge and the development of comprehensive abilities.
This book can serve as a textbook for "Advanced Mathematics" for students in higher vocational and higher college disciplines of economics, management, and engineering. It can also be used as a teaching material or reference book for instructors and students in vocational colleges to teach and study "Advanced Mathematics," as well as for those preparing for self-study exams and diploma exams (using only the first volume of this book). For math enthusiasts, this book is also an excellent self-study resource.
