To help outstanding young people understand the changes in the times and the world, walk the path of history, achieve their lofty ideals, and become members of the Communist Party of China as soon as possible, we have gathered experts and scholars familiar with Marxist theory and the theory of the construction of the Communist Party of China, who have long been engaged in teaching and researching Party courses, to compile this "New Century Party Course Series Textbooks." The basic books included in this series are: "Study Guide to the Party Constitution," "Party Course Textbook for College Students," "History of Marxism," "Principles of Scientific Socialism," "Study Guide to the Important Thought of 'Three Represents'," "Selected Readings," and others. This series of textbooks has the following four basic features:
This textbook is written based on the rich practical experience accumulated in the teaching of the Party School of Renmin University of China. It has a clear focus on the issues frequently pondered by university students with good ideological and cultural theoretical cultivation, making its targeting very precise. Second, the title "New Century" fully takes into account the new changes and situations in China and the world at the turn of the century, so the textbook is keenly focused on new practices and new theories. For issues and understandings that have been developed, the textbook provides specific and innovative elaborations based on the new Party Constitution adopted by the 16th National Congress of the Party. Third, this textbook highlights the contemporary Marxism of China, namely the guiding role of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of "Three Represents," with detailed elaborations on relevant content, closely integrating the new theoretical achievements of our Party since the 21st century with the great practice of building a moderately prosperous society in a well-off society and pioneering a new situation in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Fourth, the compilation of this textbook strives to achieve a complete system, mutual consistency, accurate viewpoints, novel content, short length, and concise language. Among them, "Selected Readings" follows the principle of being "few but excellent" and representative, preventing one-sided and misleading guidance.
