Arrhythmia Radiofrequency Ablation Atlas (2nd Edition)

Features: The first edition of Radiofrequency Ablation Atlas for Arrhythmias was published in September 1994. At that time, only over 70 hospitals in China had conducted radiofrequency catheter ablation for arrhythmias, with a total of over 4,500 procedures completed. Eight years later, as the second edition of this book is released, radiofrequency ablation technology has made significant progress. In China, more than 400 hospitals now perform this procedure, with a cumulative total of over 60,000 cases completed. In terms of the number of cases performed, success rates, and the level of technology dissemination, China has consistently maintained world-leading standards. We are immensely proud of the outstanding achievements achieved by clinical electrophysiologists in China over generations. The second edition of this book maintains the writing characteristics of the first edition while emphasizing new theoretical knowledge, practical techniques, and how to handle complex cases. All case materials in this book are derived from the author's clinical practice, providing detailed explanations of common issues in catheter ablation and focused analysis of special and complex cases. It aims to help medical professionals engaged in this field understand more theoretical knowledge and technical key points combined with actual cases, improve the success rate of ablation treatment for complex cases, and minimize complications as much as possible. In terms of content, compared to the edition eight years ago, the second edition is almost entirely new. To adapt to the situation where most hospitals have replaced old electrophysiology instruments and widely use electrophysiology workstations, the new edition primarily adopts case materials recorded in the form of electrophysiology workstations. The number of atlas chapters has increased from 10 to 32, and the total number of cases has increased to 225 (only 8 of the 93 cases in the first edition are retained). The added content mainly includes what was not covered in the first edition and what was still immature at the time, including atrial septal puncture techniques, left interventricular septal accessory pathways, epicardial accessory pathways, atrial tachycardia, left ventricular outflow tract ventricular tachycardia, and the exciting treatment of atrial fibrillation with catheter ablation. Compared to the first edition, the second edition has removed English captions for the figures, and plans to publish an English version of this book in the near future. Professor Liu Lisheng and Professor Sun Ruilong, renowned cardiologists, have once again taken the time to write prefaces for this book amidst their busy schedules. The consistent support from the People's Medical Publishing House, the meticulous and efficient work of editor-in-chief Li Xiangdong and all the other editors have made it possible for this book to be published early. On behalf of all the authors, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to them. Many cases in this book were completed by the author while assisting in various hospitals. Here, we extend our sincere thanks to all colleagues in the cardiology department and catheterization labs of these hospitals. During the writing process of this book, we ensured the authenticity of the original case materials, and the theoretical explanations and case descriptions are accurate. However, due to limited expertise and experience, omissions and errors are inevitable. We sincerely hope that our academic peers will kindly provide guidance and corrections.
