Publish Date: 2005-10-11
Features: This book is a revision based on the 1999 edition, published according to the "Basic Requirements for Physics Experiment Teaching in Non-Physics Majors of Higher Education Institutions" (Draft) developed by the Research Group of the Teaching Guidance Committee of Physics Basic Courses for Non-Physics Majors under the Ministry of Education in 2004. The teaching content system of this edition has undergone significant adjustments compared to the previous version.
1. The evaluation of measurements adopts "standard uncertainty" and briefly introduces measurement statistics standards and their applications in validation and approval, guiding students to quickly adapt to modern technical norms.
2. Following the learning patterns of students, the experimental content system has been comprehensively adjusted, with additional experimental projects added: arranged into three main parts—preparatory experiments, basic experiments, and elective experiments. The basic experiments now include elective experiment content, while the elective experiments feature student-designed experimental content and several research-oriented experiments centered around fundamental physics topics.
3. The selection and design of experimental content emphasize both breadth and depth. The experimental system highlights the process and method design of experiments, emphasizing foundational, comprehensive, design-based, and research-oriented approaches, as well as tiered teaching. Additionally, teaching content on troubleshooting skills has been included.
4. Research achievements have been incorporated into the experimental content system. For example, instruments such as dual-frequency phase modulators and TV microscopic imaging microcomputer testing systems have been developed, new experimental projects like dual vibration synthesis experiments, phase and phase difference experiments, and polarization state research experiments have been introduced, and some harmless destructive experimental content has been designed. Additionally, a large number of elective experimental projects have been created.
