What is postpartum hemorrhage in late stage?

Patient's question:

Since last week, I've suddenly been feeling dizzy and nauseous. My family was very worried, so they took me to a local hospital for a thorough examination. The detailed examination results showed that the doctor diagnosed it as late postpartum hemorrhage. After that, some medicine was prescribed for me to take home, but it hasn't shown any improvement. What kind of help is needed: What is late postpartum hemorrhage?

Doctor's answer:

Postpartum lochia lasting more than three weeks with continuous dripping is referred to as postpartum lochia profuse like a thread. Lochia refers to the remaining blood and turbid fluid discharged from the uterus after childbirth, mixed with cloudy serum and water. It is better to let it flow rather than to retain it. Initially, it is dark red, then gradually turns pale red, and should be clean within three weeks (cesarean section may take about half a month to become clean). The late postpartum bleeding caused by poor uterine involution, as known in Western medicine, can fall within the scope of this condition. Under normal circumstances, lochia should be clean around three weeks postpartum. If it remains unclean for less than three weeks, it is a pathological phenomenon. The amount may vary, the color may be pale red, deep red, or dark purple, there may be blood clots, or it may have an odor or no odor.
