Features: Globalization has promoted exchanges between nations, leading to more trade disputes, policy responses, and even regional conflicts. Some powerful nations may resort to hegemonic practices to safeguard their interests. However, we must recognize that friction, conflict, and hegemony are all inevitable processes of globalization. Fully understanding hegemony in the context of globalization is a fundamental prerequisite for correctly interpreting international politics. Hegemony and Anti-Hegemony is a collection edited by Theotonio dos Santos, chair of the Global Economy and Sustainable Development Network (REGGEN), Professor Xie Shuguang, president of Social Sciences Academic Press, and Professor Gao Jian. It selects 12 papers from the international discussion forum titled "Hegemony and Anti-Hegemony: The Limits of Globalization and Regionalization Processes," held in Brazil from August 18 to 22, 2003, achieving the editors' goal of comprehensively reflecting the conference's scope. The anthology features essays by numerous internationally renowned scholars, including Samir Amin's "Laying a New Foundation for the Unity of the South," Andre Gunder Frank's "The Paper Tiger and the Dragon," Giovanni Arrighi's "Hegemony and Anti-Systemic Movements," and Immanuel Wallerstein's "Geopolitics and the Current World Disorder." It provides theoretical perspectives on international politics beyond realism and structuralism, offering new insights into hegemonism and serving as a valuable reference for international counter-terrorism efforts.
