At sunrise, hold hands gently

Features: During class hours, the students in the class gather in groups, sticking together like dumplings—either confiding in each other or rushing to the canteen to buy snacks to fill their stomachs. I watched them, feeling both envious and jealous. I couldn’t be like them, finding friends to chat with or joining their activities. I could only quietly sit in the dim corner of the classroom, which was my exclusive seat of loneliness, where no one could intrude, nor could I intrude. In this middle school, I spent three years with my classmates, yet as graduation approached, I felt no sadness or sorrow. Without a confidant or a close friend, how could I feel sad? It’s not that I don’t make friends—it’s that I don’t know how to make friends. Since fifth grade in elementary school, I don’t know if it was because I became more reserved or too quiet, but now, in class, I have no close friends, not even someone to confide in or chat with. I often wonder what made everyone distant from me—why is that? I don’t understand, I really don’t understand. Is there anyone who can tell me?
