Can you get pregnant during your dangerous period?

Patient's question:

Had sex with your boyfriend during a dangerous period, and he took birth control pills beforehand. Is there any danger?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, one of the after-event measures is taking emergency contraception pills, but it is ineffective after 72 hours.
A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before her next menstrual period. Starting from the first day of the next menstrual period, count backward 14 days or subtract 14 days to find the ovulation day. The ovulation day, plus the 5 days before it and the 4 days after it, together make up the fertile window. For example, a woman with a 28-day menstrual cycle has her period on December 2. Her next period would then be on December 30 (December 2 plus 28 days). Subtracting 14 days from December 30 gives December 16 as the ovulation day. The fertile window would be from December 11 to December 20 (the ovulation day plus 5 days before and 4 days after). Except for the menstrual period and the fertile window, all other times are considered the safe period.
