Patient's question:
No mold found, no trichomoniasis found, BV (+), doctor, if there is no trichomoniasis, do I still need to use metronidazole?Thank you
Doctor's answer:
Hello: No mold was found, no trichomoniasis was found, BV (+). Diagnosis: Bacterial Vaginosis. Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis:1. Metronidazole (Flagyl)
Usage: Take 0.2-0.4g orally per dose, 2-3 times daily, for 7 days. It can also be administered via intravenous infusion.
2. Amoxicillin
Usage: Take 0.5g orally per dose, 3 times daily. It can also be diluted and administered via intravenous infusion in two divided doses of 6g daily.
Local Treatment
1. Clean regularly to maintain local hygiene.
2. You can use 3% boric acid or dilute acetic acid to rinse the vagina, followed by rinsing with clean water to alleviate symptoms.
3. Using erythromycin solution for rinsing can also be effective.
4. Use "Jie'eryin" or "Fu Yin Jie" to rinse the vagina internally, once daily or every other day.
Precautions:
- Appropriate treatment should be provided for sexual partners, regardless of whether they show symptoms.
- Bacterial vaginosis may coexist with other sexually transmitted diseases, so relevant examinations and corresponding treatments should be conducted.
