Features: Take you back to the touching moments of Love in the Time of Chicks. A simple psychological test in the classroom, like a spell, follows every love journey. Only by truly listening to yourself can you break free from the constraints and find the energy of love! Remember the beautiful and witty Ling Wu Fang and the yet deeply affectionate from Love in the Time of Chicks? They are a heart-stirring love story born from Cai Zhiheng's unrestrained creativity. And now, the story's Ling Wu Fang is about to dance again—do you believe it? In The Forest of Peacocks, Cai Zhiheng once again showcases the humor and longing for love of his student days. The light rhythm, refreshing emotions, delicate and lifelike character portrayals, and the accurate depiction of female emotions—all transform the creative essence of Love in the Time of Chicks into a beautiful story, inviting you to experience it.
The story begins with an interesting psychological test: "You have raised several animals in the forest—horses, cows, sheep, tigers, and peacocks. If one day you must leave the forest and can only take one animal with you, which animal would you choose?" The meeting between the male protagonist and the three female protagonists in the story was due to a mistakenly sent love letter. Because of the psychological test results chosen by the protagonists, their relationships had an underlying conflict.
In the first half of the story, the two female protagonists have names that sound the same but are spelled differently—"Liu Wei Ting" and "Liu Wei Ting." This is precisely why the male protagonist's love letter was sent to the wrong person. Because the male protagonist didn't know how to explain this misunderstanding, he could only dumbly say "I'm sorry," which deeply hurt Liu Wei Ting—choosing the tiger (representing self-esteem)—and wounded her badly. From then on, the male protagonist carried a deep sense of guilt toward her, and she became his "right stone." The other female protagonist, Liu Wei Ting—choosing the sheep (representing love)—needed romance to nourish her love. Due to the differences in their personalities, rather than Liu Wei Ting's persistent "unromanticism," their relationship ultimately ended without any resolution.
After experiencing these two relationships, the male protagonist felt endless guilt and regret until the appearance of "Li Shan Lan"—a girl who also chose the peacock. The two, who both chose the peacock, had similar essences but vastly different expressions. Thanks to her reminder, the male protagonist gained the courage to face Liu Wei Ting again, freeing his heart from guilt. Through their interactions, he also discovered her importance to him.
Finally, the male protagonist faced the true dilemma between "money" and "love." Although he wanted to take the peacock out of the forest, the peacock didn't want to be an obstacle to his display and left. But they both knew that they would reunite one day.
There are too many coincidences in life, and the psychological test is just one reasonable explanation for them, but not the definitive answer. Believe in the voice of love in your heart and believe in yourself.
