Features: This textbook is one of the series of teaching materials for the sub-project "Research and Practice of Major Courses and Main Teaching Content in Financial and Economic Majors" under the project "Research on the Teaching Evaluation and Quality Supervision System for Adult Higher Education in Shandong Province" approved by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education (Project No. J05P06). As China enters the new century, the financial industry faces new challenges. Our financial sector urgently needs a large number of professionals who master financial theory and are willing to explore and dare to practice. To meet the needs of teaching the Monetary Banking course under the new circumstances, we have written this textbook based on years of teaching experience in Monetary Banking. The textbook mainly highlights the following features:
(1) Foundation. Based on introducing the basic principles of Monetary Banking, the focus is placed on students' learning and mastery of basic knowledge, fundamental principles, and basic skills.
(2) Practicality. During the writing process, on the one hand, it introduces common practices internationally, striving to showcase financial activities in developed Western countries; on the other hand, it emphasizes China's actual national conditions and current practices. Through comparative analysis, students will not only understand international trends but also grasp the current financial reality in China. To meet the needs of domestic financial and economic work, it aims to cultivate composite and applied talents.
(3) Novelty. With the continuous development of global economic integration and financial globalization, new theories, new issues, and new knowledge are constantly emerging. Especially after China joined the WTO, it is necessary to align with international standards, which requires us to update our knowledge structure and continuously supplement new knowledge. Therefore, in the writing process of the textbook, we have added content on financial innovation, financial regulation, financial risk and management, and financial reform, striving to reflect the mainstream financial theories worldwide and the practical and theoretical research achievements of China's financial reform. This textbook can be used for adult continuing education, vocational and technical college teaching, and also serves as a reference book for financial theoretical research and financial practitioners.
