Features: This work begins with the definition of the institutional environment, analyzes the overall characteristics of the institutional environment during China's economic transition, and then examines the impact of the economic, political, and cultural institutional environments on entrepreneurial growth from three levels. It ultimately focuses on how to create a suitable institutional environment for entrepreneurial growth and how to cultivate an entrepreneurial workforce. The work combines theory and practice, with profound insights, rich content, and distinctive contemporary characteristics. It holds significant theoretical and practical reference value for the development of China's entrepreneurial workforce. The work has the following key features:
1. It adopts a novel analytical perspective on the institutional environment of entrepreneurial growth, expanding the scope of entrepreneurial theory research. International theories on entrepreneurs often have limitations in separating entrepreneurs from their social and institutional environments, making it difficult to reveal the social essence of entrepreneurship. Many scholars in China have recognized the connection between entrepreneurs and society, making valuable explorations in entrepreneurial growth theory and institutional systems. However, comprehensive, systematic, and specialized research on entrepreneurial growth from the perspective of the institutional environment remains relatively scarce. This work places the issue of entrepreneurship within the context of China's economic and social transformation, studying entrepreneurial growth in the interaction between institutions and the environment. It examines the intrinsic social links of the entrepreneurial phenomenon, avoiding the pitfalls of discussing entrepreneurs in isolation from their institutional context. This not only provides a new research perspective for academia but also offers a foundational basis and decision-making starting point for Party committees, governments, and all sectors of society concerned with entrepreneurial growth.
2. It studies the institutional environment of entrepreneurial growth from the perspectives of economy, politics, and culture, deepening the research level and reflecting multiple effects.
3. The work also makes bold attempts in its specific content and viewpoints, proposing original insights: such as defining the institutional environment as a collection of various systems—including economic, political, and cultural institutions—based on fundamental social institutions, representing an organic integration and interaction between the social institutional system and the social environment, forming a cohesive force. It emphasizes the social attributes and occupational characteristics of entrepreneurs, viewing entrepreneurs as a unified integration of natural persons, corporate entities, social beings, and the convergence of natural attributes, occupational features, and social nature. It posits that contemporary Chinese society is both innovative and dualistic. In analyzing the relationship between the economic institutional environment and entrepreneurial growth, it suggests that the degree of perfection in the entrepreneur market is a direct condition for entrepreneurial growth. The industrialization of technology, the marketization of the economy, and the socialization of property rights are the fundamental reasons for entrepreneurial growth. In its analysis of the political institutional environment, it proposes that the political institutional environment is an external condition for the development of enterprises and that the transformation of government functions plays a significant role in promoting entrepreneurial growth. The transition of the system first changes the attributes of enterprises, and this transformation provides a microfoundation for entrepreneurial growth. China's gradual reforms inevitably lead to dual dependencies and multiple pathways for entrepreneurial growth. In its analysis of the cultural institutional environment, it pays full attention to research at the social psychology level, boldly arguing the relationship between social wealth concepts and entrepreneurial growth, and so on.
