During their studies, they receive legal education, learn about legal knowledge, enhance their legal awareness, and practice law, abiding by and using it. This is necessary for improving their quality, achieving comprehensive development, adapting to society, and becoming outstanding talents early on. It is also the goal of school education and the demand for social employment. For this reason, Liu Guizong and others have compiled this "Introduction to Law." The book is based on the actual situation of college students, complies with the teaching syllabus requirements for public law courses in non-law majors at higher education institutions issued by the Ministry of Education of China, and also incorporates academic achievements in legal research since China's reform and opening-up. What is particularly valuable is that the authors who participated in compiling this textbook all have extensive practical experience in teaching law at higher education institutions, which makes the book a distinctive combination of practicality and academia. It is hoped that in the future, experience will continue to be summarized, and the book will be further enriched and improved to better serve legal education.
"Introduction to Law" was compiled based on the "Teaching Syllabus for Legal Basic Courses" formulated by the Political and Ideological Department of the Ministry of Education and the Publicity Department of the Ministry of Justice of China. It was developed in response to the urgent need to popularize legal knowledge among college students and strengthen ideological and political education, considering China's entry into the 21st century, its accession to the WTO, and the continuous deepening of reform and opening-up. During the compilation process, we paid attention to combining the needs of market economy construction and building a harmonious society, introducing common legal knowledge that college students often encounter in their daily lives and future careers in an easy-to-understand manner. On the other hand, we also focused on introducing concise knowledge of international law and WTO rules in line with China's accession to the WTO and the further expansion of reform and opening-up. Timeliness and practicality are the features of this book. It is hoped that in the future, experience will continue to be summarized, and the book will be further enriched and improved to better serve legal education.
