Abdominal acupuncture is a new acupuncture technique innovatively developed by Professor Bo Zhiyun after over two decades of dedicated research. With the main characteristics of "painless, safe, effective, quick, short course, and good stability," it has been widely welcomed by medical professionals both domestically and internationally. It is a new therapy with promising prospects for promotion in both China and abroad and has been included in the National TCM Continuing Education Program by the National TCM Administration.
After over two decades of research, Professor Bo first discovered that the meridians in the abdomen are divided into two systems: innate and acquired, arranged in a three-dimensional structure within different layers of the abdominal wall. Treating diseases based on the laws of these meridians can achieve remarkable effects. During abdominal acupuncture treatment, there is minimal or no pain, making it not only safe and reliable but also highly effective with a short treatment cycle and quick results. It is a new therapy with promising prospects for promotion in both China and abroad.
Traditional acupuncture holds that "Qi reaching the disease site" (the sensations of soreness, numbness, distension, and pain when needling acupoints) is a crucial clinical indicator for achieving optimal therapeutic effects. However, this very requirement is one of the main reasons people are reluctant to accept acupuncture treatment. Abdominal acupuncture has summarized the correlation between needling depth and various diseases, breaking free from the dependence on traditional "Qi arrival" for clinical efficacy and proposing the new acupuncture concept of "needling to the disease site." As long as the special requirements of abdominal acupuncture are followed, visible results can be achieved without the patient's awareness, making it a painless acupuncture therapy that people of all ages can happily accept.
Abdominal acupuncture has the advantages of standardized prescriptions, standardized operations, and rationalized syndrome differentiation, establishing basic norms for the development and research of abdominal acupuncture. At the same time, it provides a new model and approach for the development of acupuncture. Abdominal acupuncture combines the characteristics of traditional acupuncture treatment with its own unique diagnostic and therapeutic features, making it widely applicable to people of all age groups. Even for children, the use of acupuncture needles also holds high clinical value.
The poster is designed based on the characteristics of abdominal meridians, with the aim of being realistic, clear, and clinically applicable, reflecting the scientific nature, reproducibility, and operability of abdominal acupuncture. This poster is divided into three parts: the holographic map of the abdomen, the meridian point map of the abdomen, and the map of the eight abdominal cavities, introducing the distribution patterns of meridians at different depths in the abdomen. The locations and names of acupoints in the meridian point map follow the "International Standard Acupuncture Point Names" published by WHO in 1991. The new acupoints on the abdomen are Bo-style experience points.
We sincerely hope that the publication of this poster will be helpful to everyone and contribute to the promotion and popularization of abdominal acupuncture.
