Features: The National Language is a historical work from the pre-Qin period, traditionally attributed to Zuo Qiuming, the historian of the State of Lu. It is generally considered to have been written in the early Warring States period. The book is divided into twenty-one volumes, covering the histories of eight states: Zhou, Lu, Qi, Jin, Zheng, Chu, Wu, and Zhao. It records a history of approximately 500 years, from the campaign of King Mu of Zhou against the Dongrong people to the division of Jin by the three families.
