This book is the second volume, containing sixteen units, each divided into four parts. Listening skills training: This section aims to cultivate students' essential listening skills, helping them understand the text as a whole and obtain key information. Listening and speaking training: This section features a listening material focused on discourse training, designed to enhance students' listening and speaking abilities. It includes three exercises: 1. Centered around the text topic, it encourages students to speak and prepares them for the next listening and speaking practice. 2. It develops students' ability to understand the text as a whole and extract specific information, enabling them to grasp the main ideas of the text and the author's emotions. 3. It focuses on cultivating students' oral communication skills, providing language materials for communicative functions such as Expressing Hope, Giving Compliments, Expressing Possibility and Certainty, and Expressing Surprise, along with two to three sample dialogues closely tied to the text topic and communicative function. Students are required to engage in oral activities based on the provided scenarios, using the sample dialogues as references. Part C Additional Listening: The end-of-unit listening materials include dialogues or short passages related to the theme, along with exercises. Part D Home Listening: The extra-curricular listening materials provide one additional listening passage. On even-numbered lessons, an extra passage related to the theme of the Comprehensive Textbook is included to enhance the fun of the course. On odd-numbered lessons, Leisure Time () is added, featuring songs, humor, or famous quotes. At the end of the book, two sets of comprehensive tests are provided to assess students' listening proficiency.
