What are the clinical symptoms of endometriosis

Patient's question:

My sister has been complaining of some lower back pain these days, and recently many of her menstrual cycles have been irregular. During her periods, she experiences severe menstrual cramps. I accompanied her to the hospital for a thorough examination, and the doctor said my sister has endometriosis.
What kind of assistance is needed: What are the clinical symptoms of endometriosis?

Doctor's answer:

Endometriosis can be detected during a gynecological examination by palpating hard, small nodules, the size of green or yellow beans, with significant tenderness in the uterosacral cul-de-sac, uterosacral ligaments, or posterior cervical wall. Ectopic lesions in the vagina are most commonly located in the posterior fornix, where painful nodules can be observed upon careful examination, appearing dark purple in severe cases. Ovarian hematomas are often adherent and fixed to surrounding tissues. During examination, a tense mass with tenderness can be palpated. If it ruptures, it may lead to recurrent internal bleeding, manifesting as acute abdominal pain.
