Can one have sexual intercourse when suffering from endometritis?

Patient's question:

I've been feeling that my leukorrhea has been increasing recently. At first, I didn't pay much attention to it. In the past few months, my menstrual cycle has also been quite irregular, and I've been experiencing dysmenorrhea. Sometimes, apart from the abdominal pain, I also feel discomfort. After a thorough examination at the hospital, they said it was endometritis.
What assistance I need: Can I still have sex if I have endometritis?

Doctor's answer:

Endometritis is also not advisable for sexual activity, as it can easily lead to further spread of inflammation. Even if the inflammation is suppressed, it is not recommended to have sexual activity too frequently immediately after full recovery, to avoid pelvic congestion and a weakened immune system that could lead to a recurrence. For chronic cases, due to usual lower back and back pain, sexual activity can exacerbate symptoms, leading to increased leukorrhea, abdominal pain, and lower back and sacral swelling. Sexual activity frequency should not be too high, even if forced intercourse is attempted, it will lack pleasure and orgasm. Alternatively, even if pleasure and orgasm are experienced at the time, post-sex pelvic congestion may force symptoms to reappear or worsen.
