Features: Practical Health Statistics is a textbook written for students of the Health Service Management program at the Central Radio & TV University. Based on the characteristics of radio university students, this textbook pays attention to the following aspects:
1. Emphasizing the combination of theory and practice. Each chapter ends with a comprehensive example summarizing the key points of the chapter, and also includes a chapter summary and discussion questions to help students review, understand the key and difficult points of each chapter.
2. The structure of some content in this book is slightly different from previous Health Statistics textbooks. It groups content with common characteristics together to form Chapter 5, "Statistical Inference for Single-Sample Data." This arrangement helps readers organize and clarify complex content during self-study.
3. The best way to learn health statistics is to work through the examples in each chapter yourself. Many people who have studied health statistics have found that if you only listen to lectures without practicing or only read without calculating, it’s as if you haven’t learned statistics at all. Therefore, every statistical method introduced in the book is accompanied by at least one example for readers to practice, and each calculation step is written in detail to facilitate learning and understanding. Additionally, we have written a study guide as a supplementary textbook to provide readers with more practice opportunities. The authors of this book are middle-aged and young teachers who are engaged in health statistics teaching. We have included some classic examples and personal insights from teaching in this textbook to help students better master the knowledge of health statistics.
