How should I take medicine for moderate cervical erosion?

Patient's question:

I have moderate cervical erosion and have been taking medication and applying ointment. This morning, I noticed a little blood in my vagina and thought it might be my period, so I didn't pay much attention. I applied ointment and took medication again in the morning. Later, I felt a bit of stomach pain around noon and realized it might be my period. But then, my period didn't come at all! I wanted to ask if the medication could affect my period?

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion is a condition where the epithelial tissue is replaced by a thin layer of newly formed epithelium. Once cervical erosion occurs, it often leads to an increase in leukorrhea, which becomes more viscous and sometimes has an abnormal odor. Occasionally, purulent or bloody leukorrhea may also appear. Lower back pain, abdominal pain, and a sense of abdominal fullness are also common symptoms. Generally, herbs that clear heat, detoxify, and reduce swelling are used to treat cervical erosion.
