Features: This dictionary includes more than 3,800 entries, divided into 13 sections: Publishing Work Regulations and Standards, General Editing, Editing Engineering, Cover Design, Proofreading and Printing, Publishing and Distribution, Layout Standards and Journal Evaluation, Modernization of Editing Work, History of Chinese Scientific and Technical Editing, Editing Personnel, Editing Works, Editing Education and Research Institutions and Periodicals, Quantities and Units, etc. There are also 7 appendices, including: Book and Magazine Formats and Their Page Sizes; Methods of Italic and Capitalization for Foreign Letters; Usage of Punctuation Marks; Font and Size Table; Brief Introduction to 7 World Scripts; Common Non-Legal Metrological Units and Legal Metrological Unit Conversion Table; Introduction to Publishers of Domestic Scientific and Technical Books. The references cited in the entries and appendices, except for a few exceptions, generally date back to June 2000. The entries are written with the principle of conciseness, focusing on commonly used terms. If a term has multiple names or multiple translations, the most appropriate or commonly accepted one is chosen as the main entry, while others are listed as cross-references. Most cross-reference entries do not have explanations. Entries are arranged by category, and cross-disciplinary terms are generally defined by one category, while other categories only include the term or provide different definitions, noting "See the same term in Section ×, Page ×." For polysemous terms, they are listed in 1, 2, 3 points. Entries with an asterisk () before them indicate that the term has a dedicated entry in the dictionary for further reference. Most terms in the Policy and Regulations section are selected from policy and regulatory documents. Due to the length of some original documents, limitations in word count and the authors' level of expertise, there may be omissions and inaccuracies. The terms in the Modernization of Editing section are written with the principle of simplicity and practicality, and some lesser-known editing software are included as dedicated entries due to their practicality. The scientific and technical works mentioned in the History of Editing, except for a small number published in modern times, are mostly ancient scientific and technical works. To reflect the full picture of the history of editing, encyclopedias and series with significant impact on ancient Chinese editing history, as well as other works, are also listed as dedicated entries in this dictionary. Editing personnel are primarily from ancient and modern times, mostly selected from those born before 1932 and strictly sorted by birth date; foreign names are translated using commonly accepted methods. Editing works are categorized and strictly sorted by publication date. The terms in the Quantities and Units section are basically arranged according to the order in GB3101, GB3101, GB3102.1-13. Quantities that appear in both the same category and the same discipline are only included once in this dictionary. The classified index of terms strictly follows the categories and order of the main text, but the categories and arrangement order may not be entirely rational for the sake of convenience. At the end of the book, there is an "Index of Terms by Stroke," for easy reference.
