Features: In international communication, mutual exchange of languages is inevitable, and appropriately absorbing foreign words is necessary to enrich the national language. In recent decades, South Korea has adopted a natural and proactive attitude toward foreign words, resulting in a large number of foreign words appearing in various fields and aspects of daily life, spreading at an astonishing speed. Currently, in exchanges between China and South Korea, foreign words can be said to be the main linguistic barrier, posing significant difficulties for translation and reading. There is an urgent need for a foreign word dictionary with a large vocabulary, abundant new terms, and high standardization. To this end, the compilers collected and selected over 60,000 foreign words from South Korean foreign word dictionaries and various books, newspapers, and materials, compiling this dictionary. The scope of includes politics, economy, culture, science, technology, law, sports, military, education, religion, mythology, and all aspects of daily life. The marking of entries is based on the foreign word orthography system announced and implemented by the South Korean Ministry of Education and Science in 1996, as well as the collection of usage examples for foreign word orthography compiled and published by Mr. Mi Shengyou in 1991, reviewed and approved by the Committee for Review of Usage Examples of Foreign Word Orthography of the National Language Research Institute. The compilers strive to ensure standardization. The naming and definitions in Chinese references were based on various multilingual dictionaries and previous achievements of various forms, with efforts to find evidence and repeatedly refine them to achieve perfection and accuracy. The publication of this dictionary is expected to meet the general needs of readers at present. However, the compilers' level is limited, and shortcomings and omissions are inevitable. We sincerely hope that readers at home and abroad will point them out.
