Features: This book divides the history before the mid-Tang Dynasty into three parts. Part "Ancient China I" covers the era from ancient times to the Warring States period. Part "Ancient China II" originally covered the Qin and Han dynasties, but has now been revised to "Early Medieval China", covering the Three Kingdoms period to the mid-Tang Dynasty. The titles of the upper and lower parts are clear: the Qin and Han dynasties belong to ancient times, while the Three Kingdoms to the mid-Tang Dynasty are the early medieval period. Although the names of the slave society and feudal society are not mentioned, this is the case. For the content of this lecture, there are a few notes:
1. For the history of the Qin and Han dynasties, the lecture emphasizes the role of urban economies, highlighting that urban economies dominate rural economies and the entire society. In other words, the operation of the entire economic system is under the control of urban economies.
2. For the history of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the lecture emphasizes the emergence and development of dependent relationships.
3. Understanding of state-owned land or land ownership.
4. Class perspective. Analyzing historical issues from a class perspective is an important historical theory and viewpoint of historical materialism. This book includes six chapters: the prosperity of the Qin and Western Han dynasties, the period from the mid-Western Han to the end of the Eastern Han, the Three Kingdoms and Western Jin, the Eastern Jin and the period of separation between the Hu and Han kingdoms, the Northern Wei period, and the rise of the Sui and Tang empires.
