How long can you take Dian 35 if you have polycystic ovary syndrome?

Patient's question:

Female, 27 years old. Since her first menstrual period, her cycle has been irregular. When she was okay, she had a period every three months. During her studies, the pressure made her have a period every six months. A few months ago, her blood test showed very low progesterone, and the doctor suspected polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After taking Dian 35, she had her period. She doesn't know how long she can take Dian 35. How should PCOS be managed? ... She wants to have a baby next year.

Doctor's answer:

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) primarily manifests as oligomenorrhea (long menstrual cycles), hyperandrogenism (hirsutism, facial hair, acne), and ultrasound findings suggesting polycystic ovary changes. Because you haven't gone through menopause, your progesterone levels will be low. PCOS is a lifelong condition, and the main treatment is to regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce androgen levels. It can be treated with Dian, typically requiring continuous use for 3-6 months. Once the LH level drops to be comparable to the FSH level, ovulation-inducing drugs can be administered to help conceive. If your weight is inappropriate, lifestyle changes and weight reduction will be necessary. Most patients can successfully conceive after treatment.
