What are the symptoms of infertility?

Patient's question:

Older parents keep urging their son and daughter-in-law to have children, but they just don't. When they were told to get a thorough check-up, it turned out they really had problems. The doctor asked, "What are the symptoms of infertility?"

Doctor's answer:

The sexual life of both husband and wife is normal, and infertility is defined as not being able to conceive within a year after stopping breastfeeding. There are four basic elements required for a normal pregnancy: ① normal sperm, ② normal eggs, ③ fertilization of sperm and eggs in the fallopian tubes to form a zygote, which requires unobstructed fallopian tubes, ④ since the zygote needs to be implanted in the uterine cavity, there must be a good intrauterine microenvironment. Any problem with these four basic elements can lead to infertility. Infertility symptoms are simply not being able to get pregnant.
