Features: This book selects 108 outstanding Chinese children's choir compositions. It includes 84 selected folk choir pieces published in simple notation, suitable for community choir use. The selection principles of this repertoire library are characterized by three features:
First, classicism. Works that have stood the test of time and are recognized by the general public.
Second, popularity and practicality. Compositions that have been widely sung and appreciated by choir enthusiasts, and all works that are easily accessible and of high quality are included. Each score is accompanied by brief background information or performance suggestions, which are helpful for rehearsals and also serve as a guide for appreciation.
Third, contemporaneity and diversity. The repertoire library includes almost all types of choir music, featuring representative works from different periods, schools, styles, and levels in China and abroad, categorized for the needs of various levels and types of choirs. The Children's Choir volume selects over 200 pieces, including reserved repertoire from renowned domestic and international children's choirs, award-winning works from past choir festivals, and some recommended choir pieces by the National Arts Education Commission in recent years. The content covers four aspects:
(1) Outstanding new works reflecting various aspects of contemporary children's lives.
(2) Favorite Chinese and foreign film and television theme songs and enduring traditional children's songs.
(3) Adapted full-sung folk songs for children.
(4) World-famous children's choir pieces and masterpieces with new lyrics based on classic compositions.
The repertoire is extensive, with diverse forms and styles, and the materials are precious. Each piece is followed by inspirational performance suggestions. The arrangement progresses from simple to advanced, catering to the needs of choirs at different levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced), making it a comprehensive reference book for choir teaching. It is suitable for choir teaching, performances, and competitions in schools, classes, and youth centers across the country, offering both collectible and practical value.
The publication of this book is a "throwing of a brick to attract jade," hoping to inspire more and newer works. We eagerly look forward to and are willing to provide a platform for continuously releasing new and outstanding compositions.
