Two-Part Sight-Singing Tutor Revised Edition

Author: Shanghai Conservatory of Music Ear Training Teaching and Research Group
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: This book compiles two-part sight-singing materials, which serve as the foundation for three-part and four-part training. It includes folk songs and pieces from both China and abroad, as well as exercises, some of which are selected from foreign sight-singing textbooks. It complements the previously published "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook" (Volumes 1 and 2) compiled by this teaching and research group. To facilitate its use alongside the "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook," the arrangement of this book is primarily based on voice relationships and tonal order. The book is divided into three chapters. The harmonic pieces in Chapter 1 can be studied alongside Chapters 1 and 2 of the "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook." The polyphonic pieces in Chapter 1 can be used concurrently with Chapters 3 and 4 of the "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook." The chromatic sections in Chapter 2 can be paired with Chapters 5 and 6 of the "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook." Chapter 3 can be used alongside Chapter 8 of the "Single-Part Sight-Singing Textbook." This book is suitable for use in higher music conservatories, art departments of normal universities, and secondary music schools or conservatory preparatory departments. It can also serve as material for basic sight-singing training for professional choirs and orchestras.
