Features: In 1995, following the requirements of the school's "Five-Year Teaching Reform Project Plan," I wrote a small booklet titled "Chemical English Writing" as a textbook for elective courses for undergraduate and graduate students in the Chemistry Department. It was essentially a compilation of notes from my time studying abroad. From 1998 to 2000, Dr. Leong Chee Liak from the Chemistry Department of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore came to our institution to teach, during which he revised and expanded the booklet, adding numerous examples related to chemical engineering and instrumental analysis. This book consists of seven chapters, covering three main parts: common grammatical phenomena in professional English for chemistry; the typical framework and writing style of professional English research papers in chemistry; and submission guidelines and review procedures. The book includes a large number of common examples and phrases, with appropriate translations or explanations provided. It can serve as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in the Chemistry Department, as well as for chemists who are new to writing research papers in English.
