Features: With the development of China's environmental protection cause, the role of environmental protection standards in various fields of environmental protection has become increasingly prominent. They have become an important basis for implementing the fundamental national policy of environmental protection, carrying out the "Decision of the State Council on Several Issues of Environmental Protection," achieving environmental protection goals, and strengthening unified environmental supervision and management. In recent years, with the intensification of environmental management efforts, new standards have been continuously issued, and old standards have been successively revised. The use of expired or ineffective standards has occasionally occurred. To enable environmental protection departments at all levels and relevant units to implement environmental protection standards correctly and effectively in their work, we have compiled the series "Compendium of Environmental Protection Standards in New China." This series collects all national environmental protection standards and environmental protection behavioral standards that were in effect in China as of the end of December 2000, excluding environmental standard samples. The entire series is divided into five volumes: Atmospheric Environment, Water Environment, Soil, Solid Waste, Noise and Vibration, Nuclear Radiation and Electromagnetic Radiation, and Basic and Environmental Industry Standards. For convenience of reference, each volume is categorized, with each category arranged in the order of quality standards, emission standards, and method standards, and organized by the chronological order of standard issuance.
