Features: To express concisely and vividly, longer words are abbreviated to form short terms as acronyms. The healthy creation and correct use of acronyms can not only enrich the vocabulary of modern Chinese but also significantly enhance linguistic expressiveness and communication functions. This dictionary includes over 8,000 Chinese acronyms. The selected entries primarily focus on modern Chinese acronyms, with a limited number of ancient and foreign acronyms included. The entries are arranged in alphabetical order based on Pinyin. Entries with the same initial sound are sorted by stroke order, with fewer strokes appearing first, and entries with the same number of strokes are arranged by the order of their starting stroke. The definitions generally display the original form of the acronym, with brief hints and annotations provided for those that require explanation. The dictionary's definitions are limited to acronyms and do not explain words that share the same form as acronyms. The part of speech is indicated for each entry. Entries with multiple meanings are numbered separately, with only one example provided for each meaning. The sources of example sentences are cited as follows: newspaper names followed by year, month, day; magazine names followed by year, issue, and page; book titles followed by page number and publisher/publishing year. Many Chinese acronyms can form families through derivation. To help readers grasp the patterns and save space, this dictionary adopts a "derivation" marking method, achieving simplicity from complexity and covering ten with one. Acronyms and abbreviations are closely related. To facilitate searching and reference, we have compiled appendices such as "Abbreviations of Chinese Names for Countries and Continents," "Abbreviations and Aliases of Provinces, Municipalities, Autonomous Regions, and Special Administrative Regions in China," and "Abbreviations of Some Railway Lines in China." At the beginning of the main text, there is an "Alphabetical Index of Entry Initial Sounds," and at the end, a "Stroke Order Index of Entry Initial Sounds" is provided for readers to search. For entries with the same number of strokes, the order of starting strokes is used as the secondary sorting criterion. The rest follows similarly.
