Features: The essays in this collection were compiled from Zhang Xiaoxian's column in Hong Kong's Economic Daily. Since she wrote one every day, each piece records her feelings and life at the time. Zhang Xiaoxian is a renowned Hong Kong romance novelist. After her debut novel, The Woman on the Bread Tree, in 1995, she gained fame in the literary world and became one of the most popular romance novelists in Hong Kong, following Yishu. Her works excel at depicting urban love stories, earning popularity among young readers, and her new releases always hit bestseller lists. When deciding the book title, she had a few options in mind: Return the Sky to You, Give the Sky to You, or Leave the Sky for You. The first title seemed sorrowful, while the second and third were sweet. Ultimately, Zhang Xiaoxian chose the third.
Return the Sky to You may appear sorrowful, but isn’t it also a kind of freedom? When two people are in love, they share the same sky. When they part, they can only take with them the clouds above their own heads. As long as we’ve loved sincerely and poured our hearts out, we’ll bless each other, hoping the other finds a clear sky. Since we can no longer share life’s small joys and sorrows together from now on, who would listen to my gentle reminder: Live well.
