Features: A History of Marxist Economic Thought (1929-1990) is the second volume of the two-volume work A History of Marxist Economic Thought co-authored by M.C. Howard and J.E. Gold. The two-volume A History of Marxist Economic Thought is one of the most influential works in Western academia at the end of the 20th century on the historical development of Marxist economic thought. In this volume, the writings of German and British Marxists dominate, because before 1929, these two countries practically monopolized theoretical discussions in Marxist economics. However, since the 1930s, the focus of theoretical analysis began to shift to the West, so that Western Europe and North America became the center of Marxist political economy after the war. New challenges also emerged during this period, as some aspects of Marx's economics that had been previously overlooked were brought to the forefront; for this reason, in some chapters of this volume, we also examine literature prior to the main period covered in this volume. At the same time, Marxist political economy became increasingly difficult to define, as non-Marxist perspectives were used to overcome the shortcomings of Marxist analysis or to enhance it.
