Features: The theme of this book—Party discipline and integrity construction—is an important part of the Party's new great project of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Strictly speaking, Party discipline and integrity are not concepts within the same category. Party discipline is the external manifestation of the Party's world outlook and fundamental purpose, closely related to Party construction, while integrity means "political honesty" and is linked to the construction of the state power. In this context, the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the only legal ruling party and the core leader of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The CPC's discipline and integrity directly influence and determine the state's political climate, while the political climate, in turn, affects the CPC's discipline and integrity. The two are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. Therefore, the concept of "Party discipline and integrity construction" accurately reflects the characteristics and laws of the CPC's governance. The structure of this book is divided into two parts. The first part: "The CPC Joining the WTO and Comprehensively Participating in International Competition and Cooperation," examines from a macro perspective the strategic significance of China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its profound impact on the ruling Party. It provides an in-depth discussion on the issue of socialist ideals and beliefs, which is crucial to both Party construction and the overall Party discipline and integrity. Against the backdrop of changes in the international situation, national conditions, and Party conditions, it analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced by Party discipline and integrity construction after joining the WTO. The second part: "Meeting Challenges and Strengthening Party Discipline and Integrity Construction: Rational Reflections and Countermeasure Research," examines from a micro perspective the significant theoretical and practical issues surrounding Party discipline and integrity construction, combining the profound changes in China's social and historical environment after joining the WTO. It systematically studies and argues these issues chapter by chapter, offering both an in-depth analysis of existing problems and rational reflections and countermeasures for solving them. Additionally, the author has summarized and compiled the latest developments in the field of Party discipline and integrity construction over the past two years in the appendix, providing a detailed introduction to some major and far-reaching transformations for reference by readers.
